By using words like fave fat buster, 15 minutes, hundreds of calories and easy peasy.I may have stretched the truth (hehe) but I'm not lying. Hey, nothing good comes easy. Straight up, first thing in the morning i'll brush my teeth, throw my asics on and power walk to my favorite stairs so go do some High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), before any brekkie.Studies show that interval cardio (this means making your heart rate go up and down, and up and down, and so on) makes you burn up to 20% more fat. You also use fat stores as fuel rather than carbs first thing when you wake up as you have basically 'fasted' overnight AND even better, you burn calories for the rest of the day, even when you're not doing anything! That doesnt happen from doing your usual cardio...So i'll run you through my 7 min warm up, 15 min HIIT, and 7 min warm down, with these 3 simple steps:1) I walk to Miami Beach stairs which is literally a 5-7 minute power walk from my house (about 20 stairs up hill)2) I run up and down the stairs 10 times. Now at first you may think im crazy but I assure you, I am not. It's easier for my brain to comprehend what I'm about to do if I do it in lots of 2 (Yes, my mind tries to play tricks on me too). So I run up and down twice, getting my heart rate up to 170-180 bmp then i'll have a 1 min break, getting my heart rate down to 140. And i will do it again until I have done my 10 runs. This usually takes me about 15 mins and by the end of it, im pushing my max heart rate of about 190 bpm. Yes you will be super sweaty, and super puffed out - but guess what thats the end of your workout. 3) I cruise back home as my warm down (I always have water with me too btw). By the time I get home and get my heart rate under 100 bpm, Ive burnt about 250 calories... just like that! The funny thing is, my heart rate stays up at around 100bpm for a long long time after HIIT training, meaning my metabolism is going red hot for hours after my workout.HELLOOO FAT BURN. I do this three times a week! And love it... a) because its only 30 mins of my day and b) I get to soak some sunshine, and check the surf at the same time!
